To awaken from a slumber, or a dream is to see anew, to percieve reality in such a way that one has fresh insight in to what you can be immediately. Whereupon you know without doubt that you no longer need techniques or technologies to change your life, because the changes you are making are at the fundemental level of insight and wisdom.
Once you change at this level, see what can be done. There is no need for further intervention. This is the pathway forward

When an opportunity is right in an industry to really create unprecidented value for a niche then you must sieze the moment. Get in first, before the bandwagon. But and there is a but here...for me the opportunity, as in this moment, is to be siezed with calm. A focus on the present, feet firmly on the ground, right now...this moment.
I have found when overly looking into the future or back to the past that is when my anxiety levels have increased and maybe, just maybe I have unknowingly joined a bandwagon. |

What a great test to see how far you would go to get the job you want.
Just recently I saw a young guy with a sign on an A road (minor) asking to be employed with a great big smiley face at the end of the writing. He got the job he wanted.
Call it law of attraction, law of cause and effect, law of positivity in fact call it a fluke if you want. What is indisputable is the fact that he got the job he wanted with a trade.
I ask myself would I do that in his shoes? what had to have happened for him to do that, what must he have believed that by taking this kind of direct action he would achieve his goal. |

You can't get the job you want, just take anything you can, the economy is in too bad a shape for you to get picky.
Politicians, commentators et al.
Wrong!
You can get what you want if you build into the equation patience and strategy.
Intense visuals
Make a powerful, intense vision of what you want. This will take 30 seconds to do. Do it now. Make it the way you want it with you already in the job you really want. Big smile the whole thing.
Be it a movie or an image do it your way. |

Imagine that the city of Hull, England had a parallel universe and that parallel universe/planet mirrored the whole of the city except for some of the following vital differences.
The whole of the City of Hull's population (Hull, England ) has a twin, an alien planet called BizzaroHull (with full credit to DC Comics) living life in a beautiful buzz of self esteem, with a confident assertiveness in its ability to create the future it truly wanted, valuing its past and aware of it potential. |

My advice to the young woman?
To shore up her confidence and self belief by reminding her how far she has come in such a short time. To remind her of her achievements and to contrast where she was one, two or threee years ago with how far she has come in a short space of time...and to ask the question who does she know who would give their right arm to be in her position right now.
The power of contrast is a great motivator. A reminder of who she really is. Of her courage, what she is capable of and the respect she can choose to to have for herself. |

Like I said in an earlier blog when you hang your hat on the markets, you'de better make sure you have got a big supply chain of hats. That's what Osbourne has done, when did you last see him by the way give a credible explanation for the austerity plan not going to plan...ie cuts without growth are paradoxical, you just will not affect the deficit. Rising unemployment can only add to the deficit.
What do you think? |

Another 48000 added to the official unemployment register now standing at 2.67 million. Make no mistake these figures have an effect on everythng. |Until they don't.
Whether you're unemployed, thinking of starting out or a person with goals and ambition, it's a bit like having half a dozen fresh sicilian canolis in front of you. They look beautiful, the cream tastes gorgeous even before you lift them to your mouth as the texture and feel of fresh canoli explodes across your taste buds. |

I met with a young woman today who I had helped into work, meeting her purely on a voluntary basis. Why on a voluntary basis? Because when someone presents a problem situation to you and you know they have a quality attitude to success and achievement generally you'll go out of your way to help, wouldn't you?
Seems like a new manager has come into the department and taken a dislike to her. This can happen as we know for lots of reasons, some maybe not even known to the manager. |

You know...seems like every mail or blog I receive is telling me how to make a Million or take my book to the top of Amazon or how to use Video, Linkedin or Twitter or whatever other social network to build and dominate my niche or industry or how Pawnbrokers are the new kings of the high street. (there is usually a reason for that distinction. (just look around your high street)
One of my trainers of whom I respect greatly, talks of something, a discovery that could revolutionise the mental health of whole nations but wants to charge me nearly £5000. |
