The six step programme,STEPS2SUCCESS is designed for young adults in alternative education/care, leaving care, identified as in need, within or outside of the school system. The programme can be run with teenage mothers and fathers, and those who are or have been disengaged from education, training and employment, along with those who potentially are showing early signs of disengaging.
An Entrepreneur and esteem programme is being trialled and developed for young people in year seven, eight and nine, where identifiable benefits in and out of school can be evidenced by focusing on SUCCESS, LEARNING AND FEELING GREAT about yourself
The philosophy of STEPS2SUCCESS need never change no matter what the nature and configuration of the cohort. In that success comes from the careful building of rapport and a consistent, determined, and persistent set of actions toward a stated goal. We know a chronic lack of confidence, fear; low or negligible self-esteem, past experience, little or no self-belief and a lack of high quality role models are disempowering, and continue to prevent many young adults from breaking down constricting barriers.
STEPS 2SUCCESS develops together, the motivating vision passion, desire, goals and attitude to move away from a culture of dependency, addiction, poor decisions and equally poor role models, whilst moving with young people powerfully toward a sustainable and successful drive toward what they want, delivering an achievable, enjoyable and practical independence.
The fundamental focus of STEPS2SUCCESS is to develop three essential ingredients of long term success with young people.
1) Confidence Applied within a team framework, we introduce the prerequisites of success and achievement, namely the characteristics of confidence, self-esteem, self-belief, a strong vision and the motivation to achieve.
2) Self-Esteem Running parallel to learning how to succeed are practical and proven self reliant motivational and inspirational strategies that move young people consistently and relentlessly toward feeling better about themselves, whilst helping them to feel good about their own success and self achievement.
3) Action The ability to take consistent action toward a stated goal or goals is part and parcel of the keys to success. The methodology, attitude, tools and techniques that are introduced and developed in conjunction with young people are flavoured with the ability to take action, supported by the use of the fastest growing developmental framework for achievement within business, NLP (neuro-lingustic programming). STEPS2SUCCESS employs a unique Nlp modelling strategy, where by the characteristics and traits of SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEURS, both young and older whose ability to rise from poor, and or working class backgrounds are well documented, reflect remarkable similarities to those characteristics that have allowed young people in/out of care to survive thus far
Aims
The basic aims of STEPS2SUCCESS are always to take targetted actions to succeed. To engage, role play, set aspirational goals and teach young and disengaged learners, utilising a variety of interactive methods. STEPS2SUCCESS is a systematic repeatable and achievable approach to success that will help young people to powerfully move away from negative and destructive life patterns, toward a positive re-engagement, creating a focus on developing a successful career and sustainable, balanced emotional life style. Built around the principles of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Empirical learning and success, the course will focus on six central characteristics of successful young people and entrepreneurs.
Objectives
Over a six week period we will re-engage young people through rapport, breaking down barriers, real and artificial, emotional, economic, social and cultural. By examining, dissecting and embracing six success characteristics using NLP’S well formed outcomes, each individual will have the opportunity to learn, develop and experience different aspects of success and achievement over the six week period:
